Mary Scott, owner & Pet sitter

Deciding that paralegal work was not in line with her true values, in 2009 Mary began work as a full-time vet receptionist. She started pet sitting and volunteering at the ASAP cat shelter where she was asked to serve as a program director in 2012. From 2009-2016, Mary worked as a pet sitter while she continued to develop pet sitting clientele. In 2016, she formalized her pet sitting/dog walking business as Compassionpet, and obtained licensing in Goleta, Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara County. Mary re-branded as PamperPet–Pet Concierge in 2018, and is licensed, bonded and insured, with five qualified, dedicated employees.

Mary was named 2019 Pet Adoption Advocate of the Year by Pet Sitters International and has been featured in the local press for her continued dedication to both pet sitting and her role as Coordinator of the ASAP Working Cats Program. Mary became a Certified Professional Pet Sitter in 2019 and lives on the Mesa with her husband and three rescue cats. Mary also plays the flute, enjoys swimming, journal writing and walking on the beach.

Mary was recently interviewed by Time to Pet – read the interview here.
